Bio

My name is Ada Gabor and I just finished my master’s degree in The Art of Film directing at the University of Theatre and Film”I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest, Romania.

I will be in Paris starting from the 1st of October 2022 to the 1st of May 2023, pursuing and Erasmus + internship at ÉCU - The European Independent Film Festival.

Paris is a very important hub for the film industry, much more well developed and structured than Bucharest in this regard. That is the reason why I wish to try living here: in order to enrich my professional experience and make meaningful connections with professionals that can eventually further my career.

I would say I am a pretty easy-going, sociable person. I love getting to know new people and discover different cultures and lifestyles. Sometimes I also feel the need for personal space and quite time, so I try to keep a fair balance between the two.

My hobbies include yoga, running, photography, listening to music, and, of course, watching movies!

For a month and a half this year I've been directing short films with a cast almost exclusively made out of kids aged 8-15.
Also, the protagonist of my last University short film is a 6 year old little girl.
I truly enjoy being around children, I find their honesty and straight-forward nature quite soothing.

Regarding languages, I speak Romanian and English (level C2).
I started practicing French and I think it's going pretty well, j'espère qu'une fois en france ça ira encore mieux!

I look forward to finding a suitable accommodation while also meeting some new and wonderful people!

Ideally, I am looking for a room with a private bathroom and shower in an area maximum 1 hour away from the festival office (Ternes).
